Have you ever heard of the phrase “turn your mess into your message”?

Recently I was listening to a podcast by Mark Groves (who is a Human Connection Specialist and pretty much the coolest guy ever) and he said something that made me literally stop, pause the podcast, and contemplate for like 15 minutes.

He referred to the quote – “turn your mess into your message” and I was like WHOAAAAAAAA YESSSSSSSS.

This really resonated deeply with me because the last eight years or so I’ve spent my life deep in self-improvement, self-love, self compassion and healing. And honestly, it’s really the driving force and inspiration behind my business as well.

💕I was born without my left hand and spent years being extremely self-conscious about it to the point that I would hide it even from my close friends sometimes

💕I’ve had cystic acne since I was probably 12 years old which later developed into embarrassing symptoms caused by polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS)

💕I spent years not being able to touch doorknobs or anything in public washrooms because I was too scared to seek help for the extreme anxiety and obsessive-compulsive behaviours and thoughts that I was experiencing.

💕I lived in a home with black mold and my entire immune system tanked and I spent years trying to sort out issues with yeast overgrowth, rashes, allergies and gut issues

I don’t even think there was a particular point in time where my mess became my message but slowly over time, I went from victim mode and feeling helpless and lost, to feeling passionate and excited about helping other people get through similar challenges.

Now don’t get me wrong, my life is not perfect and in fact it’s far from it. This work never ends. But I do get up each day now feeling a lot more excited about my life purpose and work. It certainly didn’t happen overnight, but as long as I kept pursuing self-improvement and self-love, it only deepened over time.

So I’m curious, how could (or do you) turn your mess into your message? I’d love to hear about it! Let me know in the comments below.
